Abstract
The paper by A.M. Rushdi (see ibid., vol.39, no.3, p.380-1, 1990) posed some fundamental questions on the meaningfulness of the strict consecutive-k-out-of-n systems referred to as strict systems. The commenter points out that one interpretation of this system does make mathematical sense, i.e. such a system can fail with nonzero probability.<>
