Abstract
Findings are presented relative to the environment in which the employee finds himself; the interaction of manager and subordinate; the question of merit raises; fulfillment of social needs and its effect on longevity of employment; sources of satisfaction for employee and managers; and the dual ladder to advancement. The environment used as an example is a large computer manufacturer´s engineering division.
