Abstract
At present long and medium distance road freight transport assignments in Europe are mainly carried out by heavy duty diesel propulsion vehicle systems. In Project TransFormers commissioned by the European Commission a Hybrid on Demand solution will be designed and evaluated as an alternative to test the potential of electrically driven slave propulsion system installed in the trailer. The aim of this paper is to provide insight into stakeholder expectations of consumers by means of key success measures for better market acceptance of new vehicle propulsion configuration. The selected performance indicators will be applied for defining and tuning the test case scenarios and for assessing the potential of such a truck-trailer configuration.
