  • Abstract
Due to the dust, humidity and many other causes, the mine cable insulation will decrease gradually. This would cause leakage accidents and cable single-phase ground fault and then endanger the safety of the coal mines and workers. In order to solve above problems, this paper proposed a coal mine on-line insulation monitoring and fault location method. The way to achieve the goal is by superimposing a different frequency signal (DFS). When the operation of the cable is normal, it will monitoring the insulation condition of mine cable on-line, and when a single-phase ground fault occurs it will convert to locate the point of fault automatically. It combines the insulation monitoring and fault location in one system. The ATP/MATLAB simulation results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
