  • Abstract
    Based on the action mechanism of DC-link capacitors applied in electric vehicles (EVs), temperature characteristic of DC-link capacitors is analyzed. In a wide range of temperatures, a performance test is made for two kinds of commonly used DC-link capacitors, electrolytic capacitor and film capacitor. Then a comparative analysis is conducted. According to the established AC circuit model and capacitor temperature rise limiting, the relationship between RMS ripple current and parameters of DC-link capacitors is analyzed. And the influence of temperature characteristic on system is then pointed out. Finally, some kinds of treatment measures are proposed and analyzed.
