Abstract
The current critique on Deutsch´s hypothesis (1933) is re-examined with special reference to the postulated fitting of ion trajectories to the Laplacian fluxlines. A special experimental technique based on partialising DC corona activity of a suspended emitter is adopted in the parallel conductor-plane geometry. Additionally, the authors discuss the early definitively claimed Deutsch formulation failure at infinity by a careful analytical procedure
