Abstract
The influence of additions of tungsten and cobalt into CuCr contact materials on the dielectric strength of a vacuum gap is investigated. Experimental results show that the dielectric strength increases significantly when the chromium phase in CuCr materials is selectively strengthened. The proper preparation method that determines the distribution of alloying elements is also suggested in this paper
