Abstract
The radiation characteristics of a wraparound microstrip antenna on a conducting sphere are investigated for different radii, frequencies, permittivities, and thickness of dielectric substrate. The near fields are determined from the magnetic ring currents at the edges of the strip by the use of spherical wave functions. Radiation patterns are obtained from a near-field-to-far-field transformation by the method of spherical wave expansion
