Abstract
The paper describes the design and mode of operation of an analogue adding system which has many input and output channels. When several of the input channels are simultaneously excited, an output indication is provided on a single output channel, the particular one selected depending on the total number of input channels excited at that time. In this instance, the device has been used in the design of a fast multiplier suitable for use with binary digital computing machines, but it obviously has other applications.
