Abstract
This paper presents some design concepts and circuits which are the basis of a very low-power analog cochlear prosthesis in silicon technology, The proposed methods use continuous interleaved sampling (CIS) combined with novel current-mode, micropower analog techniques such as log-domain processing. A tone-controller is presented which will allow bass and treble control tuned in an analog fashion. Electrical measurements on a silicon implementation of a single-channel cochlear implant confirm the feasibility of the proposed approach and its application in multichannel implants
