Abstract
A simple argument shows that multivelocity electron flow is not inherently noisy at microwave frequencies despite the random emission of electrons. The reduction of noise due to abrupt acceleration and drift at a constant potential under longitudinal a.c. space-charge fields has been computed for a number of cases.
