Abstract
Certain mapping methods permit a large finite element to match exactly an arbitrary curve along one of its edges. However, the performance of these methods has depended on the nature of the parameterization of the curve. A new method is proposed which overcomes this problem by incorporating a re-parameterization. Results for the stored energy of a parallel-plate capacitor modeled with two curvilinear triangles, and a coaxial transmission line modeled with four curvilinear triangles, demonstrate the effectiveness of the new method
