Abstract
The paper discusses the theoretical and practical considerations concerning the design of a cavity for use with circularly polarized waves for the measurement of the tensor susceptibility of ferrite materials. Details are given of the means used for setting up the circularly polarized waves and for their detection. A practical cavity is described and expected accuracies of the results of tensor susceptibility measurements made upon ferrite samples are discussed. One practical application to which the results of the tensor measurements can be put is the design of a phase shifter, and the order of accuracy expected is given.
