  • Abstract
Solitons in dispersion managed lines have large tolerance to polarization mode dispersion (PMD) because of the strong nonlinear trap helped by a power enhancement factor compared with conventional solitons. We present numerical results on the effect of map strength S on PMD and discuss the optimum choice of S in practical soliton systems.
