Abstract
The electrodeposition of nanostructures in the cylindrical pores of membranes is shown to provide a rich array of possibilities for the investigation of spin transport and magnetic properties of magnetic nanostructures. Examples from the activity of the group are reviewed and the latest results reported: the giant magnetoresistance of a single wire, the coercivity of chains of grains, the detection of magnetization switching in single nanowires, the characterization of crystalline microstructure by Co-NMR
