Abstract
The application of a mixed finite element method to the computation of magnetostatic fields in nonhomogeneous two-dimensional domains is discussed. The method is suitable also for the accurate evaluation of electromagnetic forces on current carrying conductors. Two case studies, corresponding to a magnetic screen and a transformer respectively, are presented and discussed
