Abstract
Three types of voltage-controlled current-regulated pulse-width modulation (PWM) inverters are proffered as alternatives to the traditional open-loop inverter. Analytical and experimental results that demonstrate the equivalency between the two types of inverter-fed AC motor drives during normal operation, and the superior performance of the voltage-controlled current-regulated PWM controller during overload conditions, are presented
