  • Abstract
In 3GPP long-term evolution (LTE), the Zadoff-Chu (ZC) sequence is employed as the downlink primary synchronisation signal (PSS). A property of the ZC sequence is brought forward to simplify ZC sequence related computation, namely that the number of distinct elements in a ZC sequence with its length P satisfying P = sm 2 (s and m are primers) is no greater than one third of its length (this ratio is about one fourth when it comes to the PSS of 3GPP LTE). An efficient PSS detector (matched filter) is proposed based on this property and it saves up to 63.46% constant complex multiplications.
