Scanning Slides and Making Movies [From the Screen of Stone]

Further investigation showed that higher-quality scanners, designed specifically for slides, seemed to be a rarity. The author found only one company that made a scanner at a price he was willing to consider: under $1000.00. The scanner he selected was a Nikon Coolscan V ED, the features of which specifically included an auto focus. The author has also found it worthwhile to make panoramic shots of suitable scenes by stitching two or more specifically taken with this use in mind together. Most digital cameras seem to offer a feature that makes this convenient. One of the panoramas that I took on entering a harbor on a cruise had 11 individual photos stitched together. When then used in Photo to Movie, the results were quite effective.
