Abstract
A genetic-based algorithm is proposed to solve the multiobjective global optimisation problem of a longitudinal interconnected power system, which incorporates various constraints during the optimisation of dispatch solution with two objectives in mind: economic and environmental requirements. Its effectiveness is verified through a three-area test system with multiple fuels and multiple pollutants. Consequently, the results of the sample system are analysed to demonstrate the internal relationships among various constraints and objectives
