Abstract
This paper presents an ultra-low power passive UHF Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag chip complying with ISO/IEC 18000-6B protocol. The chip is fabricated in tsmc 0.18μm CMOS process. An ultra low power bandgap voltage reference (BGR) is presented which is used to provide supply voltage for other modules. Meanwhile, A new clock generation module (CTS [1] relaxation oscillator) is designed for the chip with high precision, and it will be compared with the conventional ring oscillator. Supply voltage of the oscillator is 1.0V and its power consumption is 1.2 μW. The average output voltage of BGR is 1.0V and its power consumption is 0.7μW. Total chip area is 0.64mm2 and it consumes 17.2μW.
