Abstract
A granular seed layer such as Au-SiO2 is effective in reducing medium noise in a Co/Pd multilayer perpendicular recording medium. Clear transitions up to a linear density of 300 kfci can be recorded on the perpendicular medium using a conventional merged magneto-resistive (MR) head
