Abstract
The existence of super-standard layers with surphase based M-inversions and the ducts associated with them, which are capable of trapping wavelengths in the microwave region, based on routine radiosonde data covering the months from October through May, has been examined for four stations located near the Western Coast of the country. M-inversions were found to be more frequent at Bombay as compared to other three stations. Radio refractive index at surface and its gradient which is important from the refraction viewpoint has also been presented.
