Cellular array multiplier-divider for signed floating point binary numbers (with variable dynamic range)

A versatile cellular array for multiplication-division of signed floating point binary numbers is described. The array can be set to multiplication mode or division mode by a control line. Provision is made for varying its dynamic range (variable significant and exponent range). The array, in addition, being comparatively simpler and flexible than existing arrays is suitable for the computer LSI hardware and similar applications.
