Ultrasonic generators for high powers

Some generators are described that have been used for the production of high power ultrasonics. Examples of the common piezo-electric and magnetostrictive types are given and briefly considered theoretically. Other less well-known types are also mentioned, and three instruments that have been developed for specialized applications are described. A brief list of some of the uses to which ultrasonics has been put is also included.
