  • Abstract
The design of a color graphics board based on a graphics system processor to interface with a personal computer bus is described. The highlight of this design is the implementation of a novel color mapping scheme. This feature gives the capability of simultaneously displaying more than 256 colors on the screen from 8-bit pixel data and provides a smooth transition from one color region to the next on the display screen. A software utility developed to make it possible to use the interactively from the PC keyboard is explained
