Abstract
The edge diffraction in non-uniform rational b-spline uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (NURBS-UTD) method is studied in this communication. Basic aspects like ray-tracing, shadowing test and calculating of ray field are managed through numerical measures respectively in order to solve the scattering problem of electrically large objects. Compared to UTD method where objects are modeled by the combination of boards, cylinders and cones, the use of NURBS provides accurate modeling of objects and can enable NURBS-UTD method to be directly applied to arbitrary electrically large convex surfaces. The computational accuracy can also be improved and numerical results show the validation and the improvement.
