Abstract
The study started as an attempt to define the end date of the current solar cycle, number 22. In the process of study, several methods of cycle matching and prediction were developed, with varying correlations with historical data. Because these are based on data considerations only, they are called emulation methods. Some thoughts on extension of the methods towards a theory are included
