Abstract
An approach using the 3D-TLM inverse process is proposed to make pattern recognitions for conducting elements. To obtain accurate results, the spatial discretisation methods used need the simulation of an infinite propagation space. To control the effects of boundary conditions on the inverse simulation, two approaches are proposed for the quantitative reconstruction of objects in three-dimensional free space. However, the results obtained from the inverse process can be multiple, especially if the inverse method is the same as the direct method. This inverse crime problem is considered in the paper
