Abstract
The electromagnetic dispersion of a coaxial waveguide with an arbitrary radial dielectric profile is obtained by direct numerical integration. Maxwell´s equations in cylindrical coordinates are manipulated into two coupled second-order differential equations in the radial coordinate and solved numerically by a `shooting´ method
