Abstract
A system, which automatically measures effective efficiencies of a bolometer mount in the frequency range of 75 GHz to 110 GHz (W-band), has been developed. It consists of a dry mono-load microcalorimeter and a broadband signal source. An automatic measuring algorithm is employed to reduce the measuring time. Measurements of the effective efficiency can be carried out in the full band at 1 GHz intervals. Using this standard bolometer mount, calibration factors of a device under test can also be measured over the full frequency range. By using a phase shifter, the uncertainty from source impedance mismatch is reduced
