Abstract
Numerical analysis of metal-in-gap (MIG) heads show that the maximum useful deep gap fields are 0.74×4πM s, where M s is the saturation magnetization of the gap material. The maximum useful deep gap field of single- and double-sided (MIG) heads is shown as a function of metal thickness. The 2-D volume integral method is used in the study
