Abstract
The authors have designed 500-tpi thin-film heads and their associated electronic circuits for linear digital data recording on 1-in-wide magnetic tapes. To reach the highest yield and to reduce the total amount of current used, they have chosen AC bias recording with a two-in-plane-turns geometry. They describe the design and processing of 100-channel assemblies. They also describe the structure of the electronic circuits that supply bias and writing currents
