Abstract
An extension of current scintillation stochastic models is described to examine the alteration of the scintillation amplitude distribution with the concurrent rain fade depth on Earth-space paths. Descriptive statistical results of 12.5 GHz scintillation at two sites show that the long-term magnitude of tropospheric scintillation steadily increases with worsening rain attenuation
