Abstract
In this paper, we make use of M2M communication in Smart Home to develop a solution that can avoid the peak of energy demand. This research project focuses on the design and implementation of a system for controlling the amount of electrical energy consumed (Energy Management System) managing the start and stop of apparatus in the Smart Home by integrating M2M communication via Bluetooth. The solution is based on using a programmed PIC-C language to permit communication between different machines in the Smart Home. The implemented solution is applied and validated to a study case of two air conditioners. This solution can be generalized to involve any type of device in the smart Home.
