  • Abstract
We propose a generic method for efficient maneuvering of surface plasmon polariton (SPP) modes along irregularly shaped metal-dielectric interfaces using strategically placed complementary medium inserts. The main attractiveness of our method is it enables us to steer SPPs through curved interfaces in a nearly lossless way while preserving the mode pattern. The complementary medium inserts can be made using isotropic and homogeneous metamaterials, simplifying the fabrication process. The proposed method allows one to significantly advance the design of the integrated plasmonic circuitry by enabling guidance of SPPs along nonplanar and complex surfaces.
