  • Abstract
    The ´open systems´ concept is examined from the perspective of an electric utility control center. The concept is defined, and its advantages are discussed. It is shown how open systems can improve the process by which utilities acquire and evolve their control centers. Suggestions for procuring an open system are offered.<>
