From the editors´ desk

In this issue there are five articles. The first is ¿Power Electronics and Electrical Insulation Systems ¿ Part 1: Phenomenology Overview¿ by Andrea Cavallini, Davide Fabiani, and Gian Carlo Montanari from the University of Bologna. It is the first in a series of three articles; the second and third, dealing respectively with lifetime modeling and diagnostic properties of insulation systems operating in conjunction with power electronic converters (PECs), will appear in later issues.
