Abstract
This paper proposes a computational method for predicting the electron trajectories of a field emitter array (FEA) for a light source by the 3-D finite element method (FEM). Using this method, the equation of the electron motion is coupled with the equation of the electric field to compute electron trajectories. Some useful results were obtained by applying this method to a starlike FEA, which the authors have been studying, and by investigating the structure with effective emissions
