Abstract
It is important in optimal design problems to be able to predict the molten metal shape which is produced by electromagnetic forces. The authors have developed a 3D finite element method which can be used to predict the shape of molten metal in cold crucible systems. They clarified the effects of the frequency of the power source on the molten metal shapes in a rectangular cold crucible system
