Abstract
The authors formulate the load variation of voice traffic in a voice/data multiplexer with a finite buffer when the number of voice calls is not fixed, and analyse its performance. They obtain a recursive solution for probability mass function of the queueing buffer based on a discrete approximation for the G/G/1 model. This solution can be obtained in the form of a discrete Lindley´s integral equation
