Abstract
In this study, joint estimation of azimuth and elevation angles with uniform rectangular array(URA) in the presence of mutual coupling is discussed. Mutual coupling coefficients are also estimated with the estimated arrival angles. By using these coupling coefficient estimates, two dimensional refined search of direction of arrival angles(DOA) is done. Several Monte Carlo experiments are performed and it is observed that the refined angle estimates are more accurate compared to the initial estimates which do not use the coupling coefficient numerical values. By applying the algorithm proposed in [1], the computational load of two dimensional spectrum search is reduced and the negative effect of mutual coupling between the sensors is eliminated.
