Abstract
We studied meV-range excitations in the CaMn7O12 multiferroic which exhibits a high ferroelectric polarization. In infrared, THz and neutron scattering spectra, we observed spin waves far above the Néel temperature. We denote these as paraelectromagnons and explain their presence by strong short-range magnetic correlations.
