  • Abstract
The education you are getting is quite different from the training electrical and electronics engineers received 30 years ago. One reason is that technological advances have expanded the field to include many specialties. Engineers´ training is much more specialized and theoretical than it was a generation ago. As the technology has grown in sophistication and business has become more complex, engineering teams have adapted by including not only more specialized EEs but also electrical/electronic technologists (EETs). With EETs to focus on practical problems, engineers can concentrate on analysis and design.
