  • Abstract
Simplified multicast forwarding (SMF) through minimum connected dominating set (CDS) seems to be an appropriate solution for robust delivering of multicast data in MANETs. However, in real tactical conditions minimum CDS may not be enough for providing satisfactory quality of the delivered data therefore the redundancy of CDS should be provided. In this paper we consider Unified CDS (UCDS) and Essential CDS (E-CDS) algorithms which distributively construct CDS set using two-hop neighborhood information. Our study is focused on different techniques for improving fault tolerance of multicasting through CDS elected by these algorithms. We evaluate the performance of UCDS and E-CDS with different adjustments in terms of stability to mobility and network capacity using the simulation in ns-3.
