News from region 1

Major contributions to engineering management, professionalism, and the development of technical concepts by IEEE members in the Institute´s Northeastern Region have been recognized by the presentation of the 1977 Region 1 Awards to the following: Electrical Engineering Management — Roland W. Schmit Schenectady Section. Engineering Professionalism — Robert A. Rivers, New Hamp shire Section. Enhancement of IEEE and Engineering Professionalism — Joel B. Snyder, Long Island Section. New Technical Concepts — Ernest G. Holtzman, Sterling C. Barton, James B. Tice, and the team of Hugh K. Burke, Charles W. Eichelberger, and Gerald J. Miction. All of this last group of award winners are members of the Schenectady Section.
