Abstract
A theoretical investigation into the eigenmodes of a waveguide resonator with small curvature mirrors is presented. Field differential equations are derived. Eigenfunctions and eigenvalues are given approximately. Cut-off curvatures are obtained. A criterion which can help to distinguish between a waveguide laser resonator and an open Fabry-Perot one is proposed
