Abstract
The author describes a system for real-time tracking containing a signal processor, a frame-grabber, and a personal computer. He presents reference pattern updating methods that he has implemented. They are based on controlled recursive time-domain filtering and enable the system to track targets with changing appearance. The methods and algorithms are independent of the kind of imaging sensor used, and they can be applied to relatively small and moving targets with interfering foreground
