Abstract
A novel zero current soft-swithing PWM half-bridge DC-DC converter topology is proposed in this paper. The newly proposed converter consists of a PWM-controlled half-bridge inverter and a current doubler rectifier linked with a high- frequency transformer. In order to attain the wide range of soft switching operation in the high voltage/low current primary side inverter, asymmetrical lossless snubbers composed by an actively-switched capacitor and lossless inductors are employed in the half-bridge arm, providing zero current switching (ZCS) that is less sensitive to the magnitude of the input current. The operation characteristics of the proposed DC-DC converter are described, and its feasibility is demonstrated with simulation and experimental results.
