Abstract
In this paper a new CNN model with second-order cells is proposed. The system dynamic behaviour is analyzed using the state equations. Its eigenvalues are studied in the space frequency domain and we show how the template and circuit parameters can be varied to obtain dispersion curves with a desired shape, which allows one to precisely select the unstable modes, with useful applications in pattern formation.
